Risk factors for ALL – Leukaemia Care e-learning

Depending on the risk factors for ALL that patients have, they can be classified as being at:
Standard-risk (good outcome): Patients have no risk factors
High-risk (poor outcome): Patients who have one or more of the following risk factors:
Age 50 or older
Male gender
High white blood cell count >30×10⁹cells/L for B-cell ALL and >100×10⁹cells for T-cell ALL
CNS disease at diagnosis
Genetic abnormalities (see in Table 2 in What causes ALL?)
