- Depending on the risk factors for ALL that patients have, they can be classified as being at:
- Standard-risk (good outcome): Patients have no risk factors
- High-risk (poor outcome): Patients who have one or more of the following risk factors:
- Age 50 or older
- Male gender
- High white blood cell count >30×109cells/L for B-cell ALL and >100×109cells for T-cell ALL
- CNS disease at diagnosis
- Genetic abnormalities (see in Table 2 in What causes ALL?)
