Median five year survival in adult AML patients (average age of 68 years) is approximately 25%.
However, overall survival rate is dependent on the patient’s age, with a five year survival rate being:
- 40-50% for patients with previously untreated AML less than 50 years old
- 10% for patients older than 60 years old
Overall survival rate is around 10% for patients with relapsed or refractory AML
